CLAT 2026 result likely by December 17, says Consortium; what’s a good score for top NLUs?

The CLAT UG and CLAT PG 2026 entrance exams for LLB and LLM admissions in 25 National Law Universities and other participating law colleges were conducted on December 7 across 156 exam centres in 25 states, 93 cities, and four UTs.
This year, 92,344 candidates registered for the exam, which is 17% more applicants than previous years. The overall attendance for CLAT UG was recorded at 96.83% and for CLAT PG 92.45% of the registered candidates appeared.
Three days after the CLAT exam, the Consortium published the provisional CLAT answer key and allowed candidates to raise objections by paying a challenge fee of Rs 500 per question. The CLAT answer key challenge window was closed on December 12.
When Careers360 contacted the officials, the Consortium said: “It (CLAT results 2026) may be announced tentatively around the 17th of December 2025.”
Candidates should note that the CLAT results 2026 will be declared for both UG and PG on the same day. To check the results, candidates will have to key in their registered mobile number and password on the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The Consortium will conduct multiple rounds of counselling based on CLAT scores after the result declaration.
What’s a good CLAT 2026 score for top NLUs?
CLAT 2026 entrance exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions carrying 1 mark each. A negative mark of 0.25 will be deducted for every wrong answer, as per the marking scheme. As per the CLAT exam paper analysis , a score above 90 is considered a good score for CLAT.
Last year, Saksham Gautam topped the CLAT exam by scoring 103.5 marks and bagged All India Rank (AIR) 1.
