Coronavirus Lockdown: Schools get more time for CBSE affiliation

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for schools seeking affiliation for the 2021-22 session.
The last date to submit the application was March 31. But the CBSE extended the last date to April 30 in view of the current lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreaak.
The CBSE had also received representations from various schools about problems being faced in services because of the lockdown.
CBSE invites applications from schools for affiliation under various categories, that is, fresh affiliation/upgrading/switch over from other board/extension of affiliation.
Schools can now apply without paying any late fee till April 30.
The CBSE circular circular reads: “The competent authority of the Board after due consideration has accorded approval for extension of date of submission of application under various categories i.e fresh affiliation/Upgradation/Switch over from other Board/Extension of Affiliation for session 2021-22 without any late fee till 30.04.2020.”
CBSE has postponed the board exams and evaluation work related to exams beyond March 31.
