CSIR UGC NET 2024 postponed due to ‘unavoidable circumstances, logistic issues’: NTA
CSIR UGC NET exam, which was scheduled to be held on June 25 to June 27, has been deferred. The revised schedule will be announced soon at csirnet.nta.ac.in.

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET 2024). The CSIR UGC NET 2024 exam scheduled to be held from June 25 to June 27 stands deferred. The advance exam city slip has been hosted on the official website, csirnet.nta.ac.in.
“The candidates are hereby informed that the Joint CSIR-UGC-NET Examination June-2024 which was scheduled to be held between 25.06.2024 to 27.06.2024 is being postponed due to unavoidable circumstances as well as logistic issues,” the NTA said.
Joint CSIR UGC NET 2024 is held to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), assistant professor and admission to PhD. The exam has been postponed days after the ministry of education cancelled the UGC NET 2024 due to paper leak.

The CSIR UGC NET admit card 2024 will be issued as per the revised schedule. The revised dates for the conduct of the exam will be notified at csirnet.nta.ac.in.
After the cancellation of the UGC NET, several universities, professors, and student groups have expressed concern over delayed PhD admission and disruption of the academic cycle. The University Grants Commission (UGC) decided to offer admission into PhD programmes through NET score.
The life sciences, chemical sciences, earth, atmospheric, ocean and planetary sciences, physical sciences, and mathematical sciences papers were scheduled to be conducted in three days period.
