NEW DELHI: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the CTET 2020 exam for the July session due to the COVID-19. The exam was scheduled to be held on July 5 . The intimation related to the postponement of CTET Exam for this session has been given by the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal in a short notice through his twitter handle. However, the new dates of CTET have not been announced yet and will be announced as soon as the COVID situation is under control.

Candidates could apply for the CTET July session exam from January 24 to March 16. It was expected that the admit card for the same would be released anytime soon but now the new dates related to the release of the admit card will be announced along with the date of exam.

About the CTET exam

CTET is conducted by CBSE in offline mode for two papers - paper I (for classes 1 to 5) and paper II (for classes 6 to 8). The exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates for teaching in classes 1 to 8. Both papers - paper I and II will be held for 2.30 hours in which they have to answer 150 objective questions of 1 mark each. Candidates are tested on their knowledge on Child Development and Pedagogy, Social Studies, Environmental Science and command over Language and Mathematics. No marks are deducted for incorrect answers.
