NEW DELHI: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2023 answer key will be released soon for paper 1 and paper 2. Candidates who appeared in the CTET July 2023 exam, held on August 20, will be able to check the CTET answer key 2023 through the official website, ctet.nic.in.
After the CTET 2023 provisional answer key is out, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will allow candidates to challenge answers by paying an objection fee. A total of 29,03,903 candidates registered for the CTET exam 2023 out of which 15,01,719 candidates opted for paper 1 and 14,02,184 candidates for paper 2. As per reports, 80% of the registered candidates appeared in the exam.
The CTET 2023 results for the July session will be declared by September end, as per the various media reports. The board concluded the CTET exam 2023 for the July session on August 20 in two shifts. Shift 1 was held from 9.30 am to 12 noon for paper 1 and shift 2 from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.

Candidates must obtain a score of 60% to qualify for the test, which means 60% marks or above in the exam is a good score. CTET exam 2023 is of total 150 marks therefore in order to clear the exam, candidates will have to score at least 90 marks or more.

Various BEd graduates who qualified the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) are in a dilemma as the Supreme Court passed an order barring BEd candidates from applying for primary school teacher jobs in the country. The candidates had been waiting for the teacher recruitment drive after clearing CTET exam. Disappointed aspirants are now planning protests as they said that they studied BEd as per the NCTE gazette in previous years.

The Bihar government introduced new rules for recruitment of teachers in April this year. According to the Bihar State School Teachers (Appointment, Transfer, Disciplinary Action and Service Condition) Rules, 2023, the candidates who have qualified CTET exam will have to appear for another exam to get state employee status.

In the previous session of CTET paper 2 conducted in December last year, over 3.7 lakh students qualified the exam. A total of 15,39,464 candidates had registered for the second paper of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test out of which 12,76,071 aspirants had appeared for paper 2.
The CTET 2023 passing marks for reserved category candidates are different than the qualifying marks required by general category students to pass the exam. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories need to score 50% marks in the exam instead of 60% in order to be considered qualified.
In the previous session of CTET exam conducted in December last year, a total of 17,04,282 candidates registered for paper 1 of CTET exam. Of total registered, 14,22,959 students wrote the test.

Candidates who appeared in CTET exam 2023 will need to score 60 percent marks in the exam in order to be considered pass. The test was conducted for a total of 150 marks and therefore candidates will be required to score at least 90 marks in the exam.
Once CTET answer key 2023 is released, candidates will be able to raise objections against the provisional key in case of any discrepancies. The cut off marks for general category candidates is 90 out of 150 and for SC, ST, OBC candidates it is 82 out of 150.

The CTET eligibility certificate is valid for a lifetime. The CBSE will grant the eligibility certificates to applicants after the announcement of the CTET 2023 result.
