Check NowThe National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has denied all the ‘fake claims’ circulating on social media regarding the restoration of BEd eligibility criteria for CTET 2026. NCTE has informed that it has not issued any notification or official circular on its website or social media channels confirming the restoration of BEd eligibility for the CTET 2026 primary level paper 1.

CTET 2026 is a national-level exam to assess candidates for teaching positions in Classes 1 to 8 in central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other schools that accept CTET scores.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started accepting applications for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for the CTET 2025 February session on the official website, ctet.nic.in, by December 18.

“NCTE has not issued any public notification or official circular on its website ncte.gov.in or social media channels - NCTE_Official (X account), confirming BEd eligibility criteria Restoration for paper-I (Primary Level) CTET - 2026.” NCTE posted on the official X account.
CTET February 2026
CBSE will conduct the CTET 2026 exam on February 8. The teacher eligibility test will be held in dual shifts from 9:30 am to 12 noon, while the afternoon shift will be held from 2:30 pm to 5 pm.
To apply for the CTET 2026, candidates belonging to the General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) need to pay Rs 1,000 to appear for paper 1, while they have to pay Rs 1,200 to appear for both papers 1 and 2. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and the differently abled person category should have to par Rs 500 for paper 1 and Rs 600 for appearing in papers 1 and 2.
