CUCET for admission to DU, JNU, BHU, central universities in June-July: Report

NEW DELHI: The Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) for admissions to all central universities including Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Visva Bharati University will be conducted in the months of June-July, the Times of India reported.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the exam in multiple languages such as English, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu among others.

The Ministry of Education will reportedly issue the notification on conduct of CUCET exam next week while NTA will announce exam dates and registration details. CUCET will be held on the basis of the existing syllabus of Class 12 in various boards, the report said.
“The dates and details are likely to be announced by the end of next week. The expert committee of the University Grants Commission is finalising the details and the ministry is also coordinating with all the 42 central universities,” a senior official told TOI.

CUCET will be a computer-based test and will contain two sections - common aptitude test and domain specific test, the report added.
Recently, DU constituted a four-member panel to look into processes related to the admission for the 2022-23 academic session through CUCET.

The Delhi University Executive Council (EC) on December 17, gave its nod to holding CUCET for admissions to its various undergraduate programmes from the 2022 academic year onwards. The decision was passed with two dissents from the EC members.
In mid-January, the Jawaharlal Nehru University decided to hold CUCET for JNU admission from this academic year 2022-23. The decision was taken in the 159th academic council meeting.
