CUET 2022: 7 important features of common entrance exam for UG courses

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the CUET 2022 notification for undergraduate (UG) courses on its website - nta.ac.in. As per the notification, the CUET 2022 application form for UG will be released on April 2.

The last date to fill and submit the CUCET application form 2022 for UG programmes is April 30. The entrance exam of CUET 2022 for admission to various UG programmes offered at participating universities will be held in the first week of July.

The CUET UG application form 2022 will be made available at cuet.samarth.ac.in. Before candidates apply for CUCET 2022 registration, they should check the eligibility criteria of their desired UG Programmes being offered.

CUET 2022 key features

• The CUET 2022 exam for UG programmes will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift includes one language test, two domain-specific papers and a general test. The second shift of the CUET exam 2022 consists of four domain-specific subjects and one optional language subject.

• The CUET entrance exam will consist of 3 sections - 13 languages (Section IA), 19 languages (Section IB), 27 domain specific subjects (Section II) and general test (Section III). The section IA and IB for each language will be held for 45 minutes.The section II for each domain will also be conducted for a duration of 45 minutes, however, section III for the general test will be conducted for 60 minutes.

• Candidates can select upto a maximum of 3 languages from section IA and section IB. In section II, students can choose upto a maximum of six subjects of their choice from the 27 specific domains being offered. Some of the test domains are biotechnology, economics, history, accountancy, biology, geography, home science, bookkeeping, chemistry, mathematics, political science, psychology, sociology, etc.

• The CUCET 2022 entrance exam for admission to UG programmes will be conducted in 13 languages namely Hindi, Punjabi, Assamese, Bengali, Odia, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Urdu and English.

• The NTA will conduct the entrance exam of CUET 2022 in computer based mode. The maximum number of tests candidates can take are 9 in a combination of 2 languages + 6 domain specific subjects + 1 general test or 3 languages + 5 domain specific subjects + 1 general test.

• The question papers of CUET 2022 will consist of objective type and multiple choice questions.The total number of questions asked in the CUET 2022 entrance exam is 175.

• The admission to UG programmes offered at all central universities along with Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University will be done based on the score obtained by candidates in the CUET 2022.

The CUET syllabus 2022 for section IA and IB includes reading comprehension based on different types of passages factual, literary and narrative. The CUCET syllabus for section II aligns with the syllabus of Class 12th. The section III CUET 2022 syllabus consists of general knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, logical and analytical reasoning.
