CUET UG 2026 Registration Begins LIVE: Registrations underway for UG admissions; exam dates, marking scheme

The NTA will keep the CUET UG 2026 application window open until January 30, 2026. Interested candidates can apply at cuet.nta.nic.in, while the last date to pay the application fee is January 31, 2026, up to 11:50 pm.

The CUET UG 2026 application form correction window will be open from February 2 to 4, 2026, until 11:50 pm. Candidates who successfully register for the entrance exam by January 30, will be able to make corrections to certain details.

Candidates can apply for CUET UG 2026 through the National Testing Agency’s official website at cuet.nta.nic.in. The online application and submission link is available on the portal, and the last date to register for the Common University Entrance Test is January 30, 2026.

There is no fixed maximum age limit prescribed by the NTA for the CUET UG exam. Therefore, individuals of any age who have passed or are appearing for the Class 12 examination can apply. However, participating universities may set their own age limits for certain courses. Applicants should therefore check the specific eligibility guidelines of the respective institutions.

The CUET UG 2026 eligibility criteria that candidates must fulfil for admissions are given below.

• Students should have passed or be appearing in Class 12 in 2026 from a recognised board. 
• For Class 12, the minimum marks are 50% for General and 45% for SC/ST candidates. 
• For BTech programmes, the minimum aggregate is 45% for General and 40% for reserved category candidates.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has increased the number of cities for the CUET UG 2026 examination. The exam, which was conducted in 285 cities across India last year, will now be held in 306 cities.

The NTA will conclude the registration process for CUET UG 2026 on January 30, and candidates can pay the CUET application fee till January 31, 2026.

The marking scheme for the CUET UG 2026 exam is as follows.

There are a total of 37 subjects inlcuding 13 languages, 23 domain specific subjest and 1 general aptitute test. A maximum of 5 subjects can be opted for. Candidates may choose any subject/language as desired by the applicable University. 

For appearing in the CUET (UG) - 2026, there is no age limit for the candidates. Candidates who have passed the class 12 /equivalent exam or are appearing in 2026 can appear in the CUET UG 2026 exam. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University / Institution / Organization in which they are desirous of taking admission.

CUET UG 2026 exam pattern is given below. 

• Subjects: 37 (13 Indian languages + 23 domain-specific subjects + 01 General Aptitude Test)
• Choice of subjects: Candidates may choose upto a maximum of five (05) subjects including languages and General Aptitude Test irrespective of the subjects opted in Class 12.
• Total questions: 50 questions for each test papers
• Exam duration: Duration for each test paper would be 60 minutes
• Marking scheme: Correct Answer: 05 marks (Five). There will be negative marking for each incorrect answer of 01 (one) mark.

The steps to fill CUET UG application form 2026 are given below:

• Visit the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in.
• Fill up the CUET registration 2026 by entering the details.
• Candidates will receive the login credentials.
• Candidates can use the login details provided by NTA and fill the application form of CUET.
• Upload the required documents such as a scanned image of NTA passport-sized photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
• Pay the application fee in online mode.
• Take the printouts of the duly filled application form for future reference.

There are a total of 37 subjects, comprising 23 domain-specific subjects and 13 languages. Candidates can also access the NTA CUET UG syllabus 2026 PDF on the official website. While applying for the CUET UG 2026 exam, candidates can choose a maximum of 5 subjects. 

As per the CUET UG 2026 marking scheme, candidates will be awarded 5 marks for correct answer, whereas one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.

The CUET UG 2026 registration window will be active at cuet.nta.nic.in until January 31. 

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be held for admission to undergraduate programmes in all central universities, participating universities for academic session 2026-27. 

The CUET 2026 will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from rural and other remote areas, and help establish better connections with the Universities. 

A single Examination will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities and other participating Universities.

A total of 33 state universities will be admitting students for UG programmes through CUET UG 2026 counselling. Candidates can apply for the CUET UG 2026 registrations through the official website at cuet.nta.nic.in.

Around 48 central universities will participate in the CUET UG 2026 counselling for admission to undergraduate programmes. The CUET UG 2026 registration window is active at cuet.nta.nic.in.
