Cyclone JAWAD: IIFT 2022 postponed in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, says NTA

Download EBookNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) 2022 exam for admission to MBA in International Business in states of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal in wake of cyclone JAWAD.

“In view of the cyclone which is expected to hit the coastal areas of Odisha on 04.12.2021 and the consequent disruption of normal life in the coastal areas of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal, it has been decided to postpone the exam scheduled to be held on 05.12.2021 at the exam centres in the following cities, to a later date,” said an official statement from NTA.
IIFT 2022 was scheduled on December 5 and admit cards in respect of the same have already been released on the official website - iift.nta.nic.in.

The exam will not be held at exam centres located in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Bhubaneshwar, Sambalpur, Cuttack in Odisha, and Kolkata, Durgapur in West Bengal, as per the official statement.
The date of IIFT 2022 for candidates who are admitted to exam centres in these cities will be announced later.

However, candidates are advised to note that the above postponement is applicable only to the given cities and that the exam will be held at all other cities on Sunday as per schedule, NTA said.
IIFT 2022 is a computer-based entrance test conducted by NTA on behalf of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. Through the annually held entrance test, students can seek admission to MBA International Business programmes offered by IIFT Delhi, Kolkata, and Kakinada. IIFT test score will be accepted only for admission to its campuses and no other MBA college accepts its exam score.

Meanwhile, the wrath of cyclone JAWAD has also led NTA to postpone UGC NET 2021 exam in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The exam has been rescheduled to December 12 which was earlier supposed to be held on December 5.
