Pondicherry University Job Fair: Students offered Rs 3-4 lakh per annum; 64 shortlisted

Pondicherry University claims the job fair to be a success, citing 64 shortlisted positions, and 17 on-the-spot offer letters.
NEW DELHI: The Pondicherry University (PU) conducted Job Fair 2022 on June 4, 2022, at the Convention-cum-Cultural Centre of the Pondicherry University. The job fair was organised by the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) for distant education students of Pondicherry University to explore different career options. Students were offered salary packages ranging from 3 lakhs to 4 lakhs per annum.
Pondicherry University claims the job fair to be a success, pointing out that about 64 positions were shortlisted, out of which 17 students got on-the-spot offer letters. "In order to fulfil the National mission, as per the UGC directions and with the kind encouragement of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof.Gurmeet Singh, the Director DDE, Prof. Chennupati K. Ramaiah has been continuously organising the Job Fairs every year however, in the year 2020-21 Job Fairs could not be organised due to the COVID-19 pandemic," said a statement from the Pondicherry University.
Companies such as LIC India, Eureka Forbes Ltd., LeBracs Rubber Linings, Integra Software Solutions, Guindy Machine Tools and Rajsriya Automotive Industries and others participated in the Pondicherry University Job Fair 2022. According to the university, these companies expressed their satisfaction regarding the knowledge level of the distance education students and willingness to be a part of upcoming job fairs by the Pondicherry University. PU will conduct another job fair online within four to six weeks. Students from different parts of the country can participate in the PU online Job Fair.

The Pondicherry University DDE offers about 20-degree programmes such as:
- MBA degrees in marketing, finance, human resource management, international business, general, tourism, operations and supply chain management, and hospital management.
- PG degrees such as MCom finance.
- MA English, Hindi and Sociology.
- UG degrees such as BBA, BCom.
- BA in English, economics, history, political science, sociology and journalism and mass communication.
