Delhi schools shift online, colleges postpone exams ahead of CJP protest

Several schools in Delhi have also revised parent-teacher meeting schedules amid possible disruption to metro services.
Many schools and colleges in the national capital have announced online classes and postponed exams scheduled for October 10 amid security concerns ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party's proposed protest at Jantar Mantar. Various schools have even rescheduled parent-teacher meetings amid disruption of metro services.
Citing extensive barricading in the New Delhi area and concerns over students' safety, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya has announced to conduct online classes for Classes 6 to 12 students, PTI reports. The school has also discontinued its stay-back facility for students today and postponed the inauguration of activity week, which was earlier scheduled for October 10.
Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School has rescheduled its parent-teacher meeting (PTM). The revised date and time will be announced later.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Mehta Vidyalaya, at Kasturba Gandhi Marg, said that due to the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar and in the interest of students' safety, sports day practice and enrichment classes for classes 9 to 12 scheduled for tomorrow have been cancelled.

Mid-term exams postponed
Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering, Paschim Vihar will soon announce the revised date for the exams which were earlier scheduled to be conducted between October 10 and 12. It has been decided after considering closure of entry and exit gates at several metro stations and possible disruption of services.
In a notice, the college said the decision was taken in accordance with directions from the dean of the University School of Information, Communication and Technology (USICT), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), and the Joint Commissioner of Police, Transport Range, Delhi.
Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Rohini has also postponed its mid-term examinations which were supposed to conclude on October 12. The decision was approved by the dean of USICT, GGSIPU, and the BTech Programme Coordination Committee. Department heads have been asked to inform faculty members and students about the revised schedule.
Notably,
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation
is expected to close entry and exit gates at 57 metro stations from 9 pm today until further notice.
