Delhi school reopening news: All schools to reopen tomorrow

Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia announced that all government and private schools will reopen on November 29.
NEW DELHI: After remaining closed due to air pollution, schools in Delhi will reopen tomorrow, November 29, for all classes, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia announced.
“All the schools in Delhi will reopen from 29.11.2021 for all classes,” Sisodia tweeted.

The Delhi directorate of education has issued an official notification on the decision.

“The reopening of the school was enabled by the order of the department of environment and forest, GNCTD, dated November 26, 2021. All the government, government-aided, unaided recognised, New Delhi Municipal Committee school (NDMC), Municipal Corporation of Delhi schools (MCDs) and Delhi cantonment board schools will open on November 29, 2021, for all classes,” the notification said.
The decision to shut schools was taken by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).

On November 13, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that schools will remain closed for a week from November 15 in view of deteriorating air quality.
The Delhi government and the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had directed all schools, colleges and educational institutions to reopen on November 1. However, after Diwali, the air quality in the national capital deteriorated.

The Supreme Court slammed the Delhi government's decision to resume physical classes for students in the national capital.
On November 17, schools and colleges in Delhi-NCR were shut again until further notice.
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on November 22, the government will take a call on reopening of schools, colleges on November 24.
Slamming Delhi government’s decision to keep schools in the state closed due to air pollution until further orders, people had started demanding the opening of schools on social media, citing learning loss of students.
