Dharmendra Pradhan launches major initiatives of NEP 2020, one-year achievement booklet
NEP 2020: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched major initiatives such as Virtual School of NIOS, alternate academic calendar 2021-22 of NCERT.

NEW DELHI: In order to commemorate one year of the implementation of NEP 2020, Education minister Dharmendra Pradhan today launched some major initiatives of NEP 2020 and a booklet on one-year achievements of NEP Implementation.

Dharmendra Pradhan launched initiatives such as NIPUN Bharat FLN tools and resources on DIKSHA to assist and mentor teachers for implementing NIPUN Bharat as well as the Virtual School of NIOS for providing advanced digital learning platforms through virtual live classrooms and virtual labs.
In addition, an alternate academic calendar 2021-22 of NCERT containing a week-wise plan of interesting and challenging activities, with reference to learning outcomes, themes, and chapters taken from the syllabus or textbook was also launched.
Union Education Minister along with Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Virender Kumar also launched, ‘Priya’- Accessibility booklet developed by NCERT in collaboration with the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability for ingraining the concept and significance of accessibility in children right from their formative years itself as a move towards inclusive education.
Speaking about virtual schooling via NIOS, Anita Karwal, secretary school education and literacy department said Class 9 to 12 will have the option to join the virtual school. She further said that everything including teaching, assessment, will be online.
The Department of School Education and Literacy prepared a NEP implementation plan called SARTHAQ. The department has implemented 62 major initiatives in this one year including NIPUN Bharat Mission on foundational literacy and numeracy, aligning of the Samagra Shiksha scheme with the NEP 2020, Vidya Pravesh - a three months school preparation module, blueprint of National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR), capacity building of secondary teachers under NISHTHA, assessment reforms, digital content on DIKSHA, etc.
The programme was attended by senior officials of the Department and Heads of Autonomous Institutions and senior officers from the School Education Department from all States and UTs.
