DoE clarifies on payment of salary to guest teachers deployed at CBSE evaluation centers

Enrol NowNEW DELHI: The Directorate of Education (DoE) has directed the head of schools (HoS) to consider guest teachers deployed at Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) evaluation work for Classes 10 and 12 as ‘on duty’. The DoE circular comes after All India Guest Teachers Association (AIGTA) apprised the DoE and urged it to direct schools to give salaries for such teachers.

The DoE issued the circular to clarify the queries raised by various schools regarding “computation of working days of guest teachers working in the schools of GNCT of Delhi, who have been deputed at evaluation centres of CBSE for the evaluation work for Class 10 and 12, deployment in Mission Buniyad during summer vacations etc.”
“If a guest teacher is deployed at evaluation center of CBSE for the evaluation work for Class 10 and 12 then she/he will be considered as “On Duty”. Thus, the days of evaluation duty will be counted in their working experience certificate and the salary for the same will be released to the guest teacher concerned,” the circular read.

The circular further read, “If a guest teachers is called for any official duty such as Mission Buniyad, Covid duty etc. by any higher authority, such days will be included in the experience certificate and salary for the same will be released to her/him.”
