DU 2019 Admissions process most likely to start after first week of May

NEW DELHI, APRIL 26: As per the latest reports, Delhi University is expected to delay the registration process for academic year 2019-20. The admission process was earlier scheduled to start from May 1. Speaking to a leading newspaper agency, the official of admission committee, Rajeev Gupta said “The date of admission will be announced when our preparations will be complete. It is highly unlikely to start the admissions in the first week of May.”
The university officials have already confirmed that the Sports and ECA admissions will be separated from the cut off list admissions. Denying the hoax of major changes in DU Admission process, he further said “There are many misleading reports being circulated. The sports and ECA quota are not going to be removed. We will soon have an official meet where all the rules and regulations will be announced and any such confusion will be debunked.”
Following the path of JNU, the university officials this year are also planning to give some perquisites to students who have finished their schooling from village and government institutes. However, the final decisions are yet to be taken by the academic council and Vice - Chancellor.
The academic council of Delhi University is also planning to increase the number of seats by offering an approval to the several colleges. 30 new courses have already received a green light by the academic council of Delhi University. These UG and PG courses will be introduced across various colleges of the university in a Choice based credit system from upcoming academic session.
