NEW DELHI: Admission to all undergraduate courses offered by the Delhi University (DU) is based on cut-off lists, or minimum scores in board exams, released by the colleges.
As per PTI report an official from the university has said that the first list for admission in undergraduate courses will be released by October 1.
Last year, the colleges with the highest first cut-offs for BSc Mathematics was Miranda House with 98.75% and for BSc Physics, it was Hindu College with 99.33%.
The first cut-off list for admission in undergraduate courses in DU usually closes at a very high percentage and this year, because of the very high percentages scored by the students in class 12 examinations, experts from various colleges believe that the cut-off will rise further still.
The class 12 examinations were cancelled due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and all state boards with a few exemptions were forced to come up with alt schemes of evaluation.
DU cut-offs 2020: BSc Mathematics and Physics
Given below are the first DU cut-offs for mathematics and physics across Delhi University colleges and for the unreserved category of students. For the reserved categories -- Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) -- cut-off scores are usually lower. The cut-off scores also drop in successive lists as DU admission progresses.
