According to the University of Delhi (DU) notification, Erasmus+ inter-institutional agreements are coordinated either by the university’s International Relations (IR) Office or by individual departments. The selection process will depend on which office or department manages the agreement.
DU has set out separate procedures for applications handled by departments and those managed directly by the IR Office. The process includes inviting applications, screening candidates and selecting eligible students according to the defined criteria.
DU Erasmus Mobility selection through departments
For agreements coordinated by individual departments under the International Relations Office, departments will invite applications from eligible students and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) scholars. The departments will screen the applications and form a selection committee to finalise the candidates.
The committee will include the Head of the Department, the former Head or the senior-most eligible faculty member if the former Head has retired, and the next faculty member according to seniority.
It will also include a member nominated by the Vice-Chancellor on the recommendation of the Chairperson of International Relations, along with the department’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) coordinator.
Students will be selected based on the criteria set out in the selection process. The notification does not specify a common application deadline on the first page; candidates should check the relevant department’s announcement for further details.
Applications through international relations office
For agreements coordinated directly by the International Relations Office, the IR Office will circulate application notices to the concerned departments and colleges. It will also publish the notice on its website to reach more applicants.
Applications must be forwarded by the Head of the Institution and submitted on or before the specified deadline. The International Relations Office will screen the applications received through this process.
The notification aims to establish a clear selection procedure for Erasmus mobility opportunities across the university. Students and PhD scholars interested in participating should check whether their department or the International Relations Office manages the relevant agreement and follow the application instructions issued by the concerned authority.
