NEW DELHI: Delhi University’s Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB) has called for applications from eligible candidates for appointment of guest faculty at 26 undergraduate (UG) and one postgraduate (PG) teaching centres for the academic year 2024-25. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria will have to submit the application form by May 22.

The application form for guest faculty post has been hosted on the official website, ncweb.du.ac.in and DU portal, du.ac.in. Eligible applicants should note that the registration will close 21 days from the date of announcement ie. May 22.

The detailed guidelines to apply for the guest faculty posts will be issued by the board soon. Before filling the application form for the recruitment, here are some details about the board.

Since 1944, DU’s NCWEB has been providing a platform for girl students to take exams with special coaching, on Saturdays and Sundays, without attending regular classes. Only women candidates residing in NCT Delhi will be eligible for admission to UG courses of NCWEB. Currently, more than 24,000 have enrolled in NCWEB.

DU’s NCWEB also provides 12 PG programmes namely MA/ MSc Mathematics, MA English, MA Hindi, MA History, MA Philosophy, MA Political Science, MA Bengali, MA Sanskrit, MA Urdu, MA Punjabi, MA Arabic, and MA Persian.

PG classes will be held at the Tutorial Building, Arts Faculty, University of Delhi, North Campus, the board informed.

No written material is given to students as there is classroom teaching. There are 50 teaching days in a year. For the UG students, classes are held from 9 am to 3:30 pm and will have 6 periods in a day.

“A major advantage of the Non-Collegiate programme of teaching is its low cost and utilisation of the existing infrastructure of educational institutions during Saturdays, Sundays and academic breaks. Teachers of the University of Delhi and affiliated Colleges are deputed as guest faculty to teach the Non-Collegiate students,” the board said.
