At a meeting with the DUSU office-bearers for the 2026-27 session, Singh congratulated them on their victory and said they had earned the trust of the student community. He said the university belonged to everyone and called for collective efforts to address students' concerns and advance the institution.
The vice-chancellor also emphasised the need for collaborative efforts on women's safety and suggested organising workshops to address the issue. He reiterated the administration's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for female students. On mental health, Singh directed that a counsellor be appointed in every college and asked the DUSU representatives to identify institutions where the post had not been filled.
He also said there was a plan to establish a wellness centre in every college. Addressing concerns over hostel facilities, Singh said the university was working on the issue in "mission mode", with two to three hostels expected to be completed this year.
