Download NowThe Ministry of Education (MoE), the Department of Higher Education, has reappointed Yogesh Singh as the vice-chancellor of the university for a second term of five years, effective from October 8, 2026.

Singh, the 23rd VC of the University, assumed the charge on October 8, 2021.
In December 2025, Singh was given additional charge as AICTE chairman by the Ministry of Education (MoE). The ministry said the additional charge will continue until a regular All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) chairman is appointed or until further orders.
Singh became a professor of computer engineering at the age of 35 in the University School of Information and Communication Technology, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi.

Before being appointed the 16th VC of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat, at just 45 years of age, he held several key administrative posts at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.
These included serving as dean of the University School of Engineering and Technology (2001-06) and dean of the University School of Information and Communication Technology (2001-06), as well as proctor (2001-06), chief warden (2001-09), director of Student Welfare (2006-09), and controller of examinations (2006-11).
Singh earned his MTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering and his PhD in Computer Engineering, both from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra , Haryana.
