Fake letter saying NEET PG 2022 postponed circulating on social media

The letter says that the NEET PG 2022 exam date has been postponed as medical doctors requested for NEET PG 2022 postponement due to its clash with NEET PG 2021 counselling.

Use NowNEW DELHI: A fake letter that says that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG) 2022 exam has been postponed by 6-8 weeks has been circulating on social media. The letter claims to be from the directorate general of healthcare services, government of India and says that the NEET PG 2022 exam date has been postponed owing to representations received from medical doctors for NEET PG 2022 postponement due to its clash with NEET PG 2021 counselling.
"A Fake letter claiming that the NEET-PG examination due to take place on 21/05/2022 has been postponed by 6-8 weeks, is in circulation on social media. No such letter has been issued by the Directorate General of Health Services," said the PIB fact check Twitter handle that counters misinformation on government policies and schemes.

Recently, in a letter to President Ram Nath Kovind and prime minister Narendra Modi, NEET PG 2022 aspirants have pointed out the insufficient gap between the NEET PG 2022 exam and the NEET PG 2021 Counselling. They also mentioned the issue of the ineligibility of about 5,000 intern doctors to appear in the NEET PG 2022 exam “because they served during the Covid-19 pandemic”.
