Study Abroad: Finance ministry data shows the number of student loans for studying MBBS abroad has risen 459% over the same period.
The cuts are in 12 scholarship, fellowship, education loan interest subsidy schemes across ministries. The steepest cuts are in budgets for minorities.
The NITI Aayog study found that just 405 out of 4,14,247 candidates trained in ITIs were placed in jobs – 0.09%.
The IIT B study also found that 60% of jobs come from ‘non core’ engineering sectors; BTech Computer Science students command the highest salaries.
