The Financial Times’ (FT) 2026 ranking of teaching case impact has been released recently, with four Indian business schools securing a spot among the global top 25. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore has secured the 11th position, followed by SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) at 15th,

The Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon was placed at the 18th spot and the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad received the 25th position. The FT 2026 rankings examine how academic work influences business practices and public policy beyond research publications. It covers four areas: practitioner publications, policy impact, external grant funding and teaching cases.

All the teaching cases are based on real business situations and challenges. These cases help students understand management decisions in areas such as strategy, marketing, finance, operations and leadership.

IIM Bangalore cases used in 680 institutions

According to IIM Bangalore, around 680 higher education institutions across 50 countries have used its teaching cases during 2024 and 2025. The institute published 26 cases through Harvard Business Impact in both years.

Sales of IIM Bangalore’s teaching cases have increased from 140,457 in 2024 to 184,879 in 2025, an increase of nearly 32 percent. The case topics include product management, marketing, customer analytics, healthcare, employee engagement and generative artificial intelligence (AI).

Some of its popular cases include redBus: Art and Science of Product Management, Testing Marketing Hypotheses at WSES and Customer Analytics at Bigbasket - Product Recommendations.
