Galgotias University confers degrees to over 150 students during its 7th convocation
Union road transport highways minister Nitin Gadkari awarded 72 gold, 40 silver, 23 bronze medals and PhD degrees to over 150 students

NEW DELHI: Galgotias University organised the seventh convocation ceremony for its PhD students on Tuesday, a statement from the university said. Union road transport highways minister Nitin Jairam Gadkari was invited as the chief guest on the occasion.
University Vice-Chancellor, Professor KK Mallikarjuna Babu said on the occasion, ‘Knowledge and power can lead a nation.’ Later in the ceremony, minister Gadkari awarded 72 gold medals, 40 silver, 23 bronze medals and 17 PhD degrees to 150 students. University chancellor Sunil Galgotia extended his wishes to all the students and prayed for their bright future.

Chancellor of the university, Sunil Galgotia honoured minister Gadkari with a doctorate for the work done by him for the society, the university said. Post this, minister Gadkari inaugurated the driverless bus made by the engineering students of the university. Minister Gadkari, in his address to the students, said, ‘Don’t be job takers, but be job givers. The purpose of education is to work for the welfare of the poor, exploited and backward sections of the society. We have to take necessary and important steps as humanity.’
He also praised the department of agricultural sciences at the university and called for setting up a research centre on Gir breed of cows and a super specialty hospital for animals, a statement read from the press release issued by the university.
