Galgotias University to host 250 participants at Smart India Hackathon 2023

Around 200 students and 40 mentors will participate in Smart India Hackathon 2023 hosted by Galgotias University.

NEW DELHI: Galgotias University will host the Smart India Hackathon 2023 which was aimed at providing a platform for students to tackle real-world challenges. The university will host 35 teams of 32 participating institutions from 13 states.

A total of 250 participants, including 200 students and around 40 mentors, will be visiting the university. Teams of Galgotias University will engage in problem-solving across four themes – smart education, smart automation, medtech/biotech/healthtech, and miscellaneous.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday interacted with the participants of the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon 2023 and addressed them today via video conferencing. The PM said, “The hackathon is a learning opportunity for him too and he is always eager to interact with the participants. The enthusiasm, will power and desire of participants for nation-building has become the identity of India’s youth power.”

Galgotias University CEO Dhruv Galgotia said, "The Smart India Hackathon 2023 aligns perfectly with our vision for a 'Viksit Bharat’. It is heartening to witness the youth embracing the call to be ambassadors of a developed India. The institution is committed to contributing to this vision by fostering innovation and problem-solving skills among the students."

35 teams to participate

The education ministry, National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO) and the ministry of social justice and empowerment have issued problem statements for the challenges. The competition will feature 17 teams focusing on medtech/biotech and healthtech themes, six teams on smart education, seven teams on smart automation, and five teams on other miscellaneous sections.
