Try NowNew Delhi, September 25 : Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has further extended the last date for submission of GATE application form 2020 till September 28. The step has been taken in student interest to allow more students to apply for GATE. IIT Delhi, which is conducting institute of GATE 2020 has previously extended the last date from September 24 to 26.
IIT Delhi has further stated that due to heavy traffic in the GATE application portal, the last date for application submission is extended till September 28 with normal fees. Students who miss the last date will still be able to apply for GATE 2020 till October 1 by paying an additional late fees of 500 INR.
Students seeking admission in PG courses in engineering in any of the participating institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs have to qualify GATE. Admission in all the participating institutes is through COAP and CCMT counselling.
GATE 2020 is scheduled to be conducted on February 1, 2, 8 and 9 across various test centres in online mode. Application form for GATE was released on August 31. The admit card for GATE will be released on December 16. IIT Delhi also introduced Biomedical Engineering as the new subject in GATE 2020 making the subject list to 25. Last year, Aerospace Engineering was introduced as the new subject.
