NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will commence the registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 today, August 28. Interested and eligible aspirants will have to apply for the exam on the GATE 2025 official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. GATE 2025 registration last date is September 26.
The process of GATE registration 2025 includes filling of application form, uploading of documents, selecting two GATE papers and three examination cities, and payment of fee. Candidates are advised to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying to the exam.
IIT Roorkee will conduct GATE 2025 on February 1, 2, 15, and 16 for admission to master’s programmes offered by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, and other participating institutes. The exam will be held in computer-based test mode for 30 test papers.
GATE 2025 eligibility criteria
Students who are currently studying in the third or higher years of any undergraduate programme or who have completed any government-approved degree programme in engineering/ technology/ architecture/ science/ commerce/ arts/ humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2025.
Aspirants pursuing an undergraduate degree from countries other than India are also eligible to apply.

GATE Registration 2025: Documents required
The data required for filling GATE application form 2025 is as follows:
- Personal information including name as on valid identity, number
- Address
- Eligibility degree details
- GATE paper and their codes
- GATE exam cities
- Fee payment details
Documents required for GATE 2025 registration are given below.
- High quality photograph of candidate as per required specifications
- High quality signature of candidate as per required specifications
- Scanned copy of caste certificate in PDF format, if applicable
- Scanned copy of PwD certificate in PDF format, if applicable
- Scanned copy of valid photo ID in PDF format from one of the following: Aadhar-UID, passport, PAN card, voter ID, or Driving License.

The institute urged candidates to ensure that the uploaded documents are readable and clear. “Uploading unreadable documents may lead to delays in processing the application and may lead to rejection of candidature,” it said.
