NEW DELHI: Are the GATE cut-offs for MTech in Electrical Engineering on the rise? Trends over the past five years suggest that the minimum score on the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) for MTech EE might finally be rising. GATE 2025 exam dates are in the first half of February and the GATE 2025 electrical engineering paper was on February 2. Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) is conducting the GATE 2025 exams.

The GATE cut-off in Electrical Engineering (EE) has shown a fluctuating trend over the years. The past years’ GATE cut-off for General category candidates was 25.7.
The GATE 2025 cut-off for Electrical Engineering may rise again this year due to the growing popularity of the branch. The MTech programmes have also undergone significant reform over the past few years. The GATE Cut-off for EE in 2024 was lower than in 2022 across all categories. However, when compared to 2023, the GATE 2024 cut-off for EE has shown an increase. The GATE cut-off increased in 2019, followed by a decline in 2020. The GATE cut-off saw a rise again in 2021 but dropped in 2022 and continued to decrease in 2023.
As per the GATE 2025 exam analysis , the difficulty level of the electrical engineering (EE) paper was easy to moderate. The GATE 2025 EE question paper was based on maths, power electronics, electrical machines, network theory signal systems, control systems, EMM, EMT, analogue, digital, and microcontrollers topics.

GATE Qualifying cut-off Vs admission cut-off
The GATE 2025 qualifying cut-off is the minimum score required to qualify the exam. The GATE 2025 qualifying cut-off will be announced by IIT Roorkee and it determines eligibility for admission to MTech programmes, PSU recruitments.

GATE 2025 exam center shifted from Prayagraj to Lucknow
The GATE 2025 exam centers for February 15, 16 exams have been changed from Prayagraj to Lucknow due to the Mahakumbh congregation. The revised GATE 2025 admit cards are available at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Candidates are required to enter their enrollment ID and password to download the GATE admit card 2025. The GATE 2025 result date is March 19. The GATE 2025 scorecards will be available from March 28 to May 31
