Goa Election 2022: Of 301 candidates, 2 are just literate, finds ADR report
Goa Assembly Election 2022: While no candidate is illiterate, 1 is doctorate. 8 are 5th pass, 50 are 10th pass, 61 12th pass, 67 graduate, 26 post graduate.

NEW DELHI: With Goa Election 2022 approaching its dates, the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has analyzed the educational background along with financial, criminal, gender backgrounds of the 301 candidates contesting for the elections.
According to the ADR report, while not a single candidate is illiterate, 2 candidates have declared themselves to be just literates.

“138 (46%) candidates have declared their educational qualifications to be between 5th and 12th standard while 127 (42%) candidates have declared having an educational qualification of graduate or above. 34 (11%) candidates are Diploma holders and 2 candidates have declared themselves to be just literate,” said the ADR report.

According to the ADR report, the overall educational qualification of 301 candidates in Goa election 2022 is given below:

The Association recommended that the Election Commission of India and all State Election Commissions should make it mandatory in all elections to carry display boards outside every polling booth showing a summarized version of candidates’ affidavits. The polling booths should essentially display details of the candidate's criminal records, assets, liabilities and education qualification.
