HBSE 12th exam 2021 cancelled; Haryana Board results based on objective criteria

Haryana Board has cancelled HBSE 12th exams 2021, the decision came shortly after CBSE announced cancelling CBSE Class 12 exams amid the COVID pandemic.

NEW DELHI: After CBSE, Haryana government has decided to cancel the Class 12 board exams conducted by the state board, education minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar told PTI. The decision to cancel the HBSE 12th exam came soon after the cancellation of CBSE 12 board exam.

“We have also decided to cancel the Class 12 board exams in the state which were to be conducted by the Haryana Board of School Education. We are going with the decision taken by the Centre and have decided to cancel the board exams," he further told PTI over phone.

The state has not decided the evaluation criteria but steps to compile the results of HBSE 12th exam and modalities for this will be worked out soon, he added.

The decision to cancel the CBSE exams was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The Government of India has decided to cancel the Class XII CBSE Board Exams. After extensive consultations, we have taken a decision that is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth," PM tweeted after the meeting.

Earlier on April 15, Class 10 board exams were also cancelled by the Haryana government which were to be conducted by the state board. It had then decided to postpone the exams of Class 12.

CISCE has also cancelled the Class 12 ISC exams. Students will get marks as per the evaluation criteria to be developed.
