Himachal govt considering to create three separate directorates of education: CM Sukhvinder Singh

Himachal Pradesh's CM Sukhvinder Singh said that the directorates of education would be for pre-primary to class 2, class 3 to 12 and for undergraduate classes.
SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday said the state government is considering to create three separate directorates of education. Laying the foundation stone of Rajiv Gandhi day boarding school to be built at a cost of Rs 25 crore in his home constituency Nadaun in Hamirpur district, the chief minister said that these directorates would be for pre-primary to class 2, class 3 to 12 and for undergraduate classes.
The state government will take a decision on this matter in the coming time, he said in a statement issued here. Asserting it is the state government's vision to provide quality education to the children studying in the Himachal Pradesh government schools in rural areas, Sukhu said the construction work of Rajiv Gandhi day boarding schools has begun in 10 assembly constituencies in the state.
Staff shortages in BJP-opened schools
The previous BJP government opened 600 schools without making proper provision for staff, the chief minister and added his government, therefore, decided that these schools would not be opened until provision for adequate staff is made.
11,833 posts sanctioned in education department
Sukhu said the state government has sanctioned 11,833 posts in the education department in the last two years. The chief minister also laid the foundation stone of a bridge to be built on Maseh Khad at a cost of Rs 5.11 crore. The people of the area had been demanding since 1970 the construction of this bridge, which will connect the remote areas of Nadaun Assembly constituency and Jaswan Pragpur Assembly constituency of Kangra district.
This bridge will provide facilities to about 10,000 people of four gram panchayats of Nadaun, two gram panchayats of Una and six panchayats of Kangra district. With the construction of this bridge, the distance between Nadaun and Bangana will be reduced by about 7.50 km and the distance between Nadaun-Peer Saluhi will be reduced by about 6 km, the statement added.
