HP NEET UG counselling 2026 dates out for MBBS, BDS admissions; round 1 applications open till August 17

The Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Himachal Pradesh, has released the final prospectus for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Undergraduate (UG) 2026 counselling for admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses. Eligible candidates can submit the online HP NEET 2026 counselling application form till August 17 through the official AMRU website, amruhp.ac.in.

The centralised HP NEET UG counselling 2026 is conducted by AMRU on behalf of the Himachal Pradesh government for admission to MBBS and BDS seats in government and private medical and dental colleges in the state. Admissions will be based on the merit of candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026.

Candidates belonging to the general, NRI, OBC and other categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 2,500. The fee for SC, ST and EWS candidates is Rs 1,500, while PwD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

Himachal Pradesh NEET UG counselling 2026 dates

AMRU has announced the counselling schedule for three rounds and the stray round days will be announced separately. As per the schedule, the online application for round 1 can be done by August 17.

Himachal Pradesh NEET UG Counselling 2026: Colleges

AMRU conducts the HP NEET counselling 2026 for six government medical colleges, one government dental college, three private dental colleges and one private medical college.

Government medical colleges

• Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla
• Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Kangra at Tanda
• Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar Government Medical College, Nahan
• Sh Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Ner-Chowk, Mandi
• Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba
• Dr Radhakrishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur

Government dental college

• H.P. Government Dental College and Hospital, Shimla

Private dental colleges

• Himachal Dental College and Hospital, Sunder Nagar
• Bhojia Dental College and Hospital, Budh (Nalagarh)
• Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences, Paonta Sahib

Private medical college

• Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College, Kumarhatti, Solan

HP NEET Counselling 2026: MBBS seat matrix

Each of the six government medical colleges has 120 MBBS seats. The seat distribution provided in the counselling information includes 15% All-India Quota seats and 85% State Quota seats. SLBS Government Medical College, Ner-Chowk, also has 36 seats under the ESI quota.

HP NEET 2026 Counselling: BDS seat matrix

The H.P. Government Dental College and Hospital, Shimla, has 75 seats, while Himachal Dental College, Sunder Nagar, and Bhojia Dental College, Nalagarh, have 60 seats each. Himachal Institute of Dental Sciences, Paonta Sahib, has 100 seats.

The private dental colleges will also have seats under the management quota.

Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College seat distribution

The total intake is stated as 150 seats, with 25% or 38 seats under the state quota and 75% or 112 seats under the management quota.
