HPSOS opens registration for Class 10, 12 special marks improvement exams

Download NowNEW DELHI: The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has opened the registration window for the Himachal Pradesh State Open School (HPSOS) special marks improvement exam for Class 10 and 12. The board has also begun the form submission process for HPSOS Classes 8, 10 and 12 exams to be held in September 2025.
The application window is open for fresh admission (direct and with TOC), re-admission, additional subjects, and special marks improvement. According to the official notice, the HPSOS 2025 application process will be held in three phases. Eligible students can apply online at hpbose.org.
Candidates can register without a late fee till May 21. Applications submitted between May 22 and June 12 will incur a late fee of Rs 1,000, while those applying from June 13 to June 30 will have to pay a late fee of Rs 2,000. The board will issue a separate notification for students applying under the re-appear and one-year improvement categories.

For students registering under the HPSOS special marks improvement category, the fee will vary depending on the attempt. In the first attempt, the theory exam fee per subject is Rs 1,500, and the practical exam fee is Rs 250. For the second and third attempts, the theory fee rises to Rs 2,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively, while the practical fee is Rs 350 and Rs 450. The roll number will remain unchanged across all three attempts.
“All study centres have been directed to go through the revised guidelines and eligibility criteria before filling admission forms. The rules and detailed instructions have been uploaded to the centres’ login IDs. The notification has been issued with the approval of the secretary,” the English translation of the official notice said.
