The ICAR counselling 2025 registration window will remain open for about a week, followed by the issuance of the rank list in the third week.

The delay in ICAR counselling 2025 has led thousands of students in limbo. Meanwhile, several of them opted for backup options in private and state universities where classes have already begun.
According to The Indian Express reports the deputy general education of ICAR, JK Jena, informed that the ICAR admission process was originally scheduled to begin on July 31, but got delayed due to a lag in receiving candidate data from the NTA and extension requests from several state agricultural and deemed universities.
Jena acknowledged the students' concerns and said efforts are being made to streamline admissions, and from the next session onwards, ICAR aims to complete counselling within 6 weeks of CUET result declaration so that classes can commence on time.
Delay in ICAR counselling 2025 left students anxious
Amidst the delay in ICAR counselling 2025, a student reportedly posted on a social media account saying she took admission in the BSc course because there was uncertainty commencement of ICAR registration.
“ Friends, just like in 2021, 2022, and 2023, this year too ICAR counselling is being delayed! We raised our voice before and won the fight…But now it seems we’ll have to start the battle again,” a user posted on X.
“Please inform when ICAR counselling will start for academic year 2025, Why it is delaying so much?,” another student posted on X.
ICAR counselling aims to fill 20% in state agricultural universities, 100% central and deemed universities and 20% seats in central universities such as Banaras Hindu University and Visva-Bharati University.
Last year, ICAR commenced the counselling process on August 7, just 10 days after the CUET UG 2024 results were announced for 5,842 AIQ seats. The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the CUET UG results on July 4. ICAR counselling 2025 is based on CUET scores.
