ICSI allows extra attempt for CS Executive, Professional students under old syllabus

Now, ICSI CS students can attempt executive, professional exams under old syllabus in December 2024, June 2025 respectively.
NEW DELHI: The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has decided to give students under the old syllabus of the CS Executive, Professional courses one more attempt in December 2024 and June 2025 exams respectively. ICSI CS December 2024 exams will be held from December 21 to 30.
“The Institute has decided that the students of Executive & Professional Programme (2017 old syllabus) shall be allowed one more attempt during the December, 2024 & June 2025 session of examinations respectively,” the institute said in an official statement.
ICSI iterated that the students of old 2017 syllabus should be compulsorily switched to the new 2022 syllabus from June 2025 and December 2025 sessions. The institute added that no further requests will be entertained.

In October last year, the ICSI president announced changes in the exam pattern and syllabus of CS Executive and CS Professional exams. The first round of exams under the new syllabus were conducted in December last year for the CS Executive students and are scheduled for June 2024 for CS Professional candidates. The process to revise the old syllabus started in 2022 and it was released in September 2023.
Candidates of CS Executive courses under the old syllabus were given two chances to continue with the old syllabus – in December 2023 and June 2024. Moreover, they had an option to switch to the new syllabus as well. Similarly, those pursuing CS Professional courses were allowed two chances to attempt the exams under the old syllabus – June 2024 and December 2024.
