IGNOU Admission 2026: University extends January 2026 session ODL and online courses registration to April 10

Fresh applicants can apply through the official Samarth portals for ODL and online programmes; however, the extended deadline does not apply to certificate courses following a semester-based structure
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for applications to its Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online courses for the January 2026 session till April 10.
Interested candidates can register for ODL programmes through ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in, while applications for online courses can be completed at ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.
Earlier the last date for the applications was March 30. The extension is applicable to fresh applicants for this admission cycle. However, the same does not apply to certificate courses and programmes that follow a semester-based academic structure.

IGNOU ODL Registration 2026: Documents required
Before starting the online application process, candidates should keep the following documents ready:

Scanned photograph and signature (file size under 100 KB)

Scanned copies of educational qualification certificates (within 200 KB)

Scanned experience certificate, if applicable (within 200 KB)

Scanned category certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates, if applicable (within 200 KB)

Candidates can follow the steps below to complete the IGNOU ODL 2026 application process smoothly:

Click on the “New Registration” option and create your profile by entering basic details.

Log in using your registered username and password to access the application form.

Fill in all required personal, academic, and contact details carefully.

Upload the necessary scanned documents in the prescribed format and size.

Choose the programme you wish to apply for and ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria.
