The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad will conduct CAT exam 2021 on November 28 to shortlist the candidates for
MBA admission
at 20 IIMs and 1000+ B-schools in India. Interested candidates with a Bachelor's degree can apply for the CAT exam 2021 at iimcat.ac.in till September 15, at 5 pm. Candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs 2200 for the general category and Rs 1100 for the reserved category to complete the CAT registration process 2021.

IIM CAT 2021 will be conducted as a computer-based test in three sessions at over 420 test centres in 158 cities across the country. Here are all the details on the reservation criteria that one must know before commencing with the CAT application form filling.
CAT 2021: Reservation criteria
There are no reservation criteria for the CAT 2021 exam apart from a 5% relaxation of marks in graduation for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates. However, IIMs follow the reservation criteria set by the Government of India. See the table below for the percentage of seats allotted to SC, ST, and NC-OBC candidates.

This CAT 2021 reservation means that a general category student has 54% (54.5% accurate seat) seats for her/ him. The total number of seats at IIMs is about 4000. Due to the reservation, the number of seats available for candidates in the general category is over 1900. By adding 20 or more top MBA colleges accepting CAT scores, the general category students have about 4000 seats to compete.
Reserved category aspirants need to meet the respective eligibility criteria and have a certain minimum level of performance to be considered for the admission process in IIMs. Note that performance in the CAT exam is vital for further rounds of admission to IIMs.
“For the purpose for which the reservation will be considered, a list of applicable Central Governments will be bound up with the last date for CAT registration. No subsequent changes to the subsequent selection process of CAT 2021 and IIMs will take effect”, states official notification.
CAT reservation policy for PwD category
The PwD category students need a PwD certificate issued by a competent authority. These students must meet the CAT exam eligibility 2021 mentioned for the PwD category. Persons with various types of disabilities accepted under PwD reservation:

Blindness and low vision

Deaf and hard of hearing

Locomotor disability including leprosy cured, acid attack victims, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, and muscular dystrophy

Intellectual disability, autism, specific learning disability, and mental illness
CAT 2021: Eligibility criteria
For reserved category
-
Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 45% of aggregated marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university/ institute.

There is no age restriction to apply for the CAT exam 2021.

Students are not required to have any prior work experience.
For general category

Students who completed a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% of aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university/ institute are eligible to apply for CAT 2021.

There is no age limit to apply for the CAT exam 2021.

CAT eligibility for past two year's graduates (2020-21)

To implement the different assessment patterns adopted by various universities across the country due to the COVID epidemic, IIM Ahmedabad has removed the minimum marks criteria (45% and 50%) to appear for the IIM CAT exam 2021 .

Candidates with “promotion/ pass” instead of “award of marks” certificates in any of the last two years of the bachelor’s degree can enter the “promotion/ pass” option in the CAT 2021 application form.
