IIM Jammu gets five-year accreditation from BGA, three-year from EFMD for meeting all international standards.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu received two international accreditations in 2025 - from the Business Graduates Association (BGA) and from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). This makes IIM Jammu one of the five IIMs in the country to achieve the recognition.
IIM Jammu welcomed a peer review team (PRT) from BGA, operating under the Association of MBAs (AMBA), London, in January this year. The PRT conducted a “360-degree” evaluation of the institute, meeting with the director, deans, programme chairs, faculty members, alumni, students, and corporate recruiters associated with the institute.
IIM-J showcased a presentation titled “The Journey of IIM Jammu”, reflecting the institute’s alignment with the BGA’s guiding values, as highlighted in an official statement:
- Lifelong learning: Academic excellence, executive education, and inclusive entrepreneurship
- Positive impact: Research productivity, corporate engagement, and social outreach
- Responsible management: Strong governance and financial sustainability

IIM Jammu: BGA accreditation
The BGA usually awards three-year accreditations to institutions, with five-year accreditations being “rare” and almost exclusively to institutes with longstanding legacies and long-term impact. But the team decided to award a five-year accreditation to a young IIM Jammu , which has less than 10 years under its belt, adding to IIM Jammu achievements.
IIM Jammu again invited a PRT in March, this time from EFMD. The team extensively gathered information from meetings with stakeholders. Another rendition of the presentation, “The Journey of IIM Jammu”, was showcased, this time based on the values of the EFMD team:
- Internationalisation: Research excellence, global partnerships, and faculty development
- Practice orientation: Industry-linked curriculum, executive education, and corporate collaboration
- Ethics, responsibility and sustainability (ERS): Ethical leadership, social impact, and inclusive innovation

IIM Jammu: EFMD accreditation
On June 17, the EFMD board awarded a three-year accreditation to IIM Jammu’s flagship Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, proving IIM Jammu’s international standards.
BS Sahay, director of IIM Jammu, remarked, “This is not just a feather in our cap—it’s a reflection of our potential, our purpose, and our promise to shape the future of management education in India and across the world.”
The twin accreditations are a testimony to IIM Jammu “excellence”, and provide the following advantages to the institute:
- Enhances its ability to attract students, faculty, and recruiters.
- Provides access to career resources and global student networks.
- Enhances global credibility and recognition of MBA at IIM Jammu.
- Greater international collaborations and mobility.
