The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur organised its 13th convocation on April 25, 2026, where 546 students were awarded degrees across its various programmes. Students graduating this year were from MBA, MBA (analytics), executive MBA (EMBA), executive MBA in analytics (EMBAA), and PhD programmes.

The ceremony brought together faculty, families, and dignitaries to mark the milestone. Among the key attendees were Guhanathan Narendar as the chief guest and Kamal Poddar, managing director of choice international limited, as the guest of honour.

The event was chaired by Shri Sandeep Singh, interim chairperson of the board of governors, along with director Neeraj Dwivedi.

Addressing the graduating students, Narendar focused on the importance of staying true to one’s values while navigating professional life. He told students that success is not just about achievement but also about making responsible choices.

“You have earned your place through perseverance, discipline and determination, with each degree reflecting resilience and effort. Do not be afraid of taking risks early in your career, for growth rarely happens within comfort and true success lies in what you contribute,” he said.

He also added, “The difference between power and impact lies in values—ask yourself whether your decisions will uplift others, whether you will lead with integrity, and whether you will stand firm in difficult moments. In life, you will often face shades of grey, and it is your intellect and morals that must guide you to choose what is right.”

Kamal Poddar, in his address, highlighted the need to remain adaptable in a fast-changing world. He encouraged students to build their careers on what he called the three pillars of “Integrity, Innovation, and Motivation,” saying these qualities would help them stay relevant and resilient.

IIM Kashipur sees rise in women students, especially in analytics programme

One of the notable trends this year was the higher participation of women, particularly in the MBA (analytics) programme. Women made up more than 73% of that batch, reflecting a strong shift in what has traditionally been a male-dominated field.

Across all programmes, women accounted for about 39% of the graduating class, an increase from last year’s 33%. The institute also reported the presence of over 24 students from the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category, pointing to gradual improvements in inclusivity.

Academic excellence was recognised during the ceremony with 10 medals awarded to top performers. Additionally, 22 students were named in the director’s merit list, including 14 from the MBA programme and 8 from MBA (analytics).

IIM Kashipur focus on real-world learning and global exposure continues

Shri Sandeep Singh, while addressing students, spoke about the responsibilities that come with leadership. He encouraged them to think beyond personal success and consider the broader impact of their work.

“As you step beyond these walls, you enter a world defined by both unprecedented opportunities and complex challenges. Be leaders who think deeply, act responsibly, and remain anchored in integrity. Measure your success not only by personal achievements, but by the impact you create in the lives of others,” he said.

Director Neeraj Dwivedi described the convocation as a moment of pride for both students and the institute. He emphasised that IIM Kashipur aims to prepare graduates who are not only skilled but also socially responsible.

The institute’s experiential learning programme continued to play a key role this year. Students from the 2024–26 batch worked on 73 live projects with more than 80 organisations, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as sustainability, rural development, and MSME support, especially in Uttarakhand.

IIM Kashipur has also been strengthening its international collaborations, partnering with institutions across countries like the UK, France, Sweden, South Korea, and Israel. These tie-ups offer students opportunities for exchange programmes and joint research.
