Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has launched an initiative called ‘Jigyasa’ that aims to connect people with the work that is being done in the laboratories of institutions of eminence like IITs. The initiative has been launched by the institute’s academic outreach office.

Under the Jigyasa initiative, researchers including students and faculty can present their works at various science and technology education institutions. "The initiative aims to make people understand seemingly complex scientific phenomena in an informal setting, keep them abreast of recent discoveries, and inspire and teach the future generation about the process of scientific enquiry," an official press release from IIT Delhi said.

The initiative was inaugurated at the JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, on May 12, 2025, which is also the National Technology Day.
As the inauguration was held on the National Technology day, there was a celebration of innovation and recent advancements in the institute. At the programme Sushil Kumar Tomar, vice chancellor of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA and chief guest Maithili Sharan from the Centre for atmospheric sciences at IIT Delhi gave lectures on the history of India's nuclear programme and the importance of the development of the indigenous technology. The programme was attended by students, research scholars and scientists from IIT Delhi and JC Bose UST, YMCA.
Students, research scholars and scientists displayed their research work in the form of posters and demonstrations, while they also spoke with visitors. A discussion on the ongoing research work related to artificial intelligence at IIT Delhi was also conducted during the event.
A panel discussion was also being conducted on the theme “Artificial Intelligence: A Replacement or Augmentation for Human Intelligence,” during the programme. Brejesh Lall, Chetan Arora, and Prapanch Nair were among the panel members who discussed the importance and future of AI in their research field and Ritabrata Thakur was the moderator -- all from IIT Delhi.
