The IIT camp ‘Camp CogSci’ will be held from January 7 to January 9, 2022 for students of Classes 8 to 12

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar is set to begin an online camp, ‘Camp CogSci’(Cognitive Science), to familiarise students of Classes 8 to 12, parents and teachers with cognitive science, artificial intelligence and neuroscience. The IIT Gandhinagar camp will be held from January 7 to January 9, 2022.
The candidates who register and attend the camp can learn about the human mind, accumulate knowledge on scientific research and become aware of the opportunities available. The camp will facilitate the interaction of school children with faculties from IIT Gandhinagar and other higher education institutes.

The IIT camp will be provided for students of Classes 8 to 12 by IIT Gandhinagar’s Curiosity Lab and Centre for Cognitive and Brain Sciences.
“Cognitive Science is a subject that includes the intersection of psychology, computer science, neuroscience, philosophy, linguistics, and anthropology to study the human mind and behaviour. This IIT workshop will elaborate to students on how researchers study the mind, brain, behaviour, and cognitive processes such as attention, perception, learning, and decision-making”, says the press release.

“IIT curiosity camps provide an opportunity for students, teachers, and parents to familiarise with the opportunities in cognitive science. The workshop aims to create awareness of different career paths available that are supported by institutions like the IITs”, said Jaison A Manjaly, professor and principal investigator at Curiosity Lab, IIT Gandhinagar.
Top academics from India and abroad will be addressing the workshop, including scholars and professors from IIT Gandhinagar, Université Catholique Louvain, Belgium, NIMHANS, and Ahmedabad University.
