IIT Indore launches BTech in space science and engineering; admission via JEE Advanced

IIT Indore's BTech in space science and engineering programme will begin from July 2023. Admissions on the basis of JEE Advanced 2023.
NEW DELHI: The Department of Astronomy Astrophysics and Space Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) has announced a new BTech programme in space science and engineering. Admissions for the programme will begin in July 2023 and the all India JEE ranking will be considered for admission. The programme will be set in motion from July 2023 onwards and candidates interested in enrolling for the same at the institute will be required to appear and qualify the JEE Advanced 2023 examination.

Announcing that the institute will start the new Btech programme with 20 seats and admission will be through IIT JEE Advanced, the department on Twitter said: “We are happy to announce the beginning of a new and unique BTech programme at IITI -- BTech in Space Science and Engineering, from July 2023.”
BTech in space science and engineering: Specialisations offered
Candidates will be offered sundry specialised programmes including space instrumentation, detectors and payloads, imaging and data analytics, remote sensing and atmospheric engineering and astronomy and astrophysics.
IIT Indore BTech in space science and engineering: Objective of the programme
The newly-introduced course, an institute statement said, is aimed at imparting “state of art knowledge” in the domain. Additionally, it aims to develop skilled human resources to cater to the demand of ever-growing space and allied sectors of India and the rest of the world.
The institute further said that through the programme, the students will be able to make their way to cutting-edge research and tech development in the sectors of payloads, small satellites and detector design, data analytics, imaging and high-end numerical simulations.
