IIT JAM 2027 website launched; registration begins September 5, exam on February 14

The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has launched the official website for Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027. The information brochure will be released on August 22, while the registration process will begin on September 5. IIT JAM 2027 will be conducted on February 14, 2027, in two sessions.

The forenoon session will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm for Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematics (MA). The afternoon session will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm for Biotechnology (BT), Economics (EN), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH).

Candidates can appear for either one or two test papers. However, candidates opting for two papers can select only those scheduled in different sessions.

JAM 2027 important dates

The JAM 2027 application process will be conducted through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS). While applying online, candidates will have to register on JOAPS using their name, valid email address, mobile number, and password.

Candidates are advised not to wait till the last date to apply online.

JAM 2027 application process

The application process will involve registering on JOAPS, filling out the online application form, uploading the required documents, paying the application fee, and tracking the application status.

Candidates will be required to upload their photograph, signature, and proof of date of birth. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will also have to upload the relevant category certificate, wherever applicable. PwD candidates will be required to upload the prescribed forms after making the payment.

The application status can be tracked through JOAPS. Status updates may include received, under scrutiny, accepted, defect status, rectified, rejected, and admit card ready.

JAM 2027 documents required

Candidates will need to keep their Class 10 (SSC) marksheet or certificate ready while applying. They will also need to upload a photograph and signature according to the prescribed specifications.

The following documents may be required during the application process:

• Class 10 (SSC) marksheet/certificate
• Photograph as per prescribed specifications
• Signature as per prescribed specifications
• Category certificate, wherever applicable
• PwD certificate/forms, wherever applicable

IIT JAM 2027 will facilitate admission to 89 postgraduate programmes across 23 IITs for the 2027-28 academic session. Candidates with a valid JAM score can seek admission to postgraduate programmes including M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech.), MS (Research), M.Sc.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and Integrated Ph.D. (I-PhD) programmes at premier institutes, including the IITs.
