IIT Jodhpur, JCKIF organise conference on 'entrepreneurship as social movement'

IIT Jodhpur's entrepreneurship conference will be held from April 5 to 7, 2023. Over 275 participants will be attending the event.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ) along with the Jodhpur City Knowledge and Innovation Foundation (JCKIF) and Essex Business School's social enterprise Mehrangarh Museum Trust will be organising a conference titled 'entrepreneurship as a social movement.' The conference will be held from April 5 to 7 at IIT Jodhpur.
The event aims to safeguard heritage and grass-root entrepreneurship development using technology and other means. The conference will be examining how technology and innovation can be applied to popularise the diverse culture of India and create socially equitable models for it.

The three-day event will include talks, panel discussion and field trips for an immersive experience for participants to witness the capabilities of artisans. The panel of speakers range from social entrepreneurs, policy makers, angel investors, business strategists, academicians, global cultural emissaries, and citizens of jodhpur. Over 275 participants have already registered for the conference.
At the conference, Maharaja Gaj Singh II will be partnering with IIT Jodhpur director Santanu Chaudhary; Essex University, faculty of business enterprise and innovation, Jay Mishra and Contact Base founder and CEO Amitava Bhattacharya to create pathways for engaging citizens with institutions for entrepreneurial outcomes relevant to Indian heritage.
Speaking about the event, IITJ director Santanu Chaudhury, said: “Entrepreneurial approach to transform traditional folk arts, crafts, music, drama, indigenous practices and products into sustainable ventures can touch life of millions. This conference is providing a platform to engage in deep discussions on how to empower these ventures through application of new technology and scientific management methods. This initiative is aligned with IIT Jodhpur's vision of promoting research and innovation in science, technology and management for social transformation."
