NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is collaborating with InFact Pro, a Chennai-based premier finance sector certified trainer, to launch an upskilling programme called ‘Premier Banker’ which will train the students in banking and finance, digital banking, mutual funds, analysis and forecast of financial health.

The Premier Banker course will be launched by IIT Madras Digital Skills Academy through the IITM Centre for Continuing Education (CCE). The course duration will be four to six months with 240 hours of training. The course module includes questions and assignments to help students succeed in a career in banking and financial services. Those who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate from the Centre for Continuing Education, IIT Madras, said a statement from the institute.

IIT Madras Premier Banker Course Eligibility

  • Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline or should be in the second or third year of any undergraduate programme.

  • Candidates should have a passion to excel in the BFSI domain.

  • Previous work experience in the banking or financial services sector is preferred but not mandatory.

“It is very important to offer courses in skilling and upskilling in a timely manner and also focus on current markets and their requirements. With our Nation aiming to move fast towards a 5 trillion dollar economy, it is important such programs are offered soon with the help of premier faculty in finance and banking sector training companies like what our academy has proposed,” said K Mangala Sunder, head of digital skills academy, centre for continuing education at IIT Madras.
