IIT Madras organises Samanvay 2022 festival for management students
The annual festival included lecture series, fireside chat, panel discussions on management domains, workshops, social events etc.

NEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras’ management department organised an annual festival called Samanvay 2022. The theme of Samanvay 2022 was ‘Revolutionizing Management with AI: The Resurgence, The Reality, The Revolution.’ The festival had over 3,000 registrations from B-schools and colleges across the country.
“Samanvay represents a confluence of thoughts and ideas, integration of knowledge and skills, and synthesis of intellectual prowess and brilliance. This edition revolved around integrating data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence with existing paradigms of management to provide effective service to all stakeholders,” said an official statement from IIT Madras.

The event commenced with a marathon on October 30, 2022 followed by competitive events between November 4 and November 6, 2022. Professor V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, participated in the inaugural session.
The inauguration was followed by ‘PlantIIT,’ the social responsibility activity in which saplings were planted across the campus to spread awareness on the importance of a clean environment.
Samanvay 2022 witnessed industry leaders and speakers across varied domains of fin-tech, artificial intelligence, operations, analytics and entertainment management, etc.
The events included lecture series, fireside chat and panel discussions on current and emerging domains in management studies, educational workshops for skill development.

Panel discussions and lecture series were organised in a hybrid mode, on various domains of management including operations, data analytics, and marketing. Some of the topics discussed by the panellists were “Marketing - With AI galore, What's in Store?”, “Thinking With Me, or Thinking Beyond Me - When does AI start being unethical?” and “Is AI the new electricity?”
Samanvay also teamed up with the entrepreneurship cell of IIT Madras to host a panel on “Data fueling AI and ML in Business Value Creations” and a fireside chat with Vaibhav Jain, the CEO of Hubilo, along with a workshop on product management with AI.
Along with these technical events, there were many interesting social events in the festival such as Shipwreck, Minute to Win It and Samanvay’s Business Quiz, among others.
