IIT Madras Pravartak to launch PG programme in ‘Applied Petroleum Engineering and Hydrogen Energy’

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation’s Digital Skills Academy has partnered with Zemblance Hydrocarbons Private Limited to launch a web-enabled PG-level advanced certification programme in ‘Applied Petroleum Engineering and Hydrogen Energy’ (PGPEH).

The hybrid programme is a combination of web-enabled courses in Petroleum Engineering, Renewable Energies, and Hydrogen Energy. Students joining the programme will be offered practical insights and expertise from professionals, including those from the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), IndianOil Corporation Limited, GAIL (India) and Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), among other industry leaders.

The evaluation process of the PGPEH programme will include offline exams held at various centers across India for the assessment and qualification of participants. Applicants interested in joining the programme must have a graduation degree in engineering or technology or a Master's degree in a relevant science subject. Working professionals from the oil and gas industries or allied areas seeking to upskill themselves can also apply.

The ‘Applied Petroleum Engineering and Hydrogen Energy’ programme aims to bridge the gap between industry requirements and the expertise of participants with an engineering background and working professionals seeking to advance their careers.

The programme is led by Rajesh Nair professor of Petroleum Engineering and Lead Advisor at Zemblance Hydrocarbons with IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation. Zemblance Hydrocarbons has further teamed up with Ed4All to expand the programme's reach and marketability overseas, targeting regions like Africa, Latin America, South Asia, the USA, the UK, and the Middle East.

An agreement regarding the partnership was signed between MJ Shankar Raman, chief executive officer of IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, and Lakshmipriya Menon, Founder, and CEO of Zemblance Hydrocarbons.
