IIT Mandi's HiBS 2025 summit closes with discussion on AI's impact on business
IIT Mandi’s two-day event, held from January 18 to 19, offered mentorship and collaboration opportunities for students and industry experts.

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi organised Himalayan Business Summit (HiBS) 2025, a two-day event that addressed technological disruptions, discussions, mentorship and collaboration opportunities between students and business tycoons. The event by IIT Mandi’s School of Management was held from January 18 to 19.
Industry leaders, professionals, and academic experts discussed the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of businesses at the HiBS 2025 summit, as per the official statement by the institute.
Anup Purohit, global CIO at Wipro Limited, delivered the keynote, highlighting how organizations can align AI with their business strategies to foster innovation and enhance digital transformation. Anjan K Swain, chairperson of the School of Management at IIT Mandi , inaugurated the HiBS 2025 summit with a welcome address by explaining the vision of the event and the role of IIT Mandi’s School of Management in shaping the next generation of leaders in AI and business, the institute said.

Themed “AI-Powered Personalization: Tailoring Products and Services”, the first-panel discussion was initiated by Karun Jalali, director at Deloitte, including Nilesh Biniwale, Pattern India); Tanushyam Chattopadhyay, Adani AI Labs; and Sarosh Kumar, Cognizant, where they engaged in a detailed discussion on the importance of leveraging AI to deliver personalized experiences in today’s competitive market.
The second-panel discussion on “AI-Driven Business Intelligence: Unlocking Data-Driven Insights”, was moderated by Vinay Kumar with panelists including Abhijit Dutta, Accenture; Sumanyu Panda, SKLasS.AI; and Sidharth Balakrishna, BOD Consulting. They shared insights on transforming raw data into actionable intelligence for competitive advantage.
Furthermore, the final panel discussion, themed “AI & Cybersecurity: Protecting Digital Assets”, was moderated by Samir Datt, Foundation Futuristic Technologies. Panelists, including Venkatagiri, KFin Technologies; Ajay Sabnani, Genexa.AI; and Arnab Banerjee, Micron Technology, expressed their views on safeguarding sensitive digital assets in the era of growing cyber threats.
