As per the JoSAA closing ranks, IIT Ropar’s BTech CSE programme cutoff for the last round of admissions stood at 2512. Whereas, IIT Ropar closed admissions at 2379 in 2024 and at 1859 in 2023, revealing tough competition for CSE admission.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts counselling sessions for admissions to premier institutions, including IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).
For the academic year 2026-27, JoSAA has published the mock seat allotment round 1 result on its official website, josaa.nic.in. The JoSAA round 2 mock seat allotment result 2026 will be available tomorrow. The last date for registration and choice filling is June 11, as per the JoSAA schedule.

According to the JoSAA data, the IIT Ropar BTech CSE category-wise closing ranks, under the gender neutral category, for the last three years of the admission cycle are shown in the table below.

For the academic year 2026-27, a total of 67,323 engineering seats are offered across IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Notably, 4,470 new BTech seats have been added to the JoSAA counselling 2026 seat matrix for BTech admissions.
IIT Ropar revamps BTech curriculum
IIT Ropar has revamped its BTech curriculum , offering a flexible learning framework for students. Students will be able to complete the UG curriculum for core courses by the end of the 5th semester, allowing them to explore advanced electives, internships, and research projects in the remaining semesters.
Notably, IIT Ropar has added an integrated dual-degree programme for students who maintain a CGPA of 7.0 or above. Students can opt BTech in their main discipline and an MTech in an interdisciplinary field, in an additional year of study and also fulfill 40 extra academic credits. The new curriculum also offers minor degree and specialisations, allowing aspirants to gain expertise in emerging domains without losing focus in their core discipline.
